Embora me pareça que o autor começa mal em relação ao Steven Spielberg onde relata “apenas” os seus blockbuster: Jaws (1975), Close Encounters of the Third Kind (1977), Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981) and E.T. (1982) e se esquece, ou quer esquecer, que The Sugarland Express (1974) já era um grande filme (eu não falo do Duel (1971) pois existe mais dois filmes pelo meio, realizados para a televisão que ainda não vi), o artigo tem o mérito de dar uma visão diferente sobre grandes realizadores e a fase mais produtiva das suas carreiras.

É obvio que existe outras opções questionáveis como por exemplo: Punch-Drunk Love (2002) ser considerado um grande filme mas ter esquecido que David Fincher realizou entre 1995 a 2010 os seguintes filmes: Se7en (1995); The Game (1997); Fight Club (1999); Panic Room (2002); Zodiac (2007); The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (2008); The Social Network (2010).

Realmente é um feitoe não são tantos a consegui-lo. Mesmo grandes realizadores têm muitas vezes um filme menor no meio de grandes filmes e interrompem a sequência.

O caso mais paradigmático será o do Hictch: tirando uns 3/4 um pouco menores, teria mais de 20(!) grandes filmes seguidos, grande parte deles obras primas.

Os bold são filmes com reviews um pouco piores (não concordo com o caso do Marnie e em parte com o Ladrão de casaca) mas esta parte da filmografia será incomparável com qualquer outro realizador. Curioso é que em sequência dificilmente passa dos cinco também, embora o consiga três vezes imo

Como referido no artigo, tudo isto é subjetivo, eu gostei desta seleção, essencialmente, porque indica alguns realizadores menos óbvios e porque recomenda alguns filmes menos conhecidos de outros realizadores consagrados. Por exemplo, eu sempre gostei dos filmes do Hal Ashby, um realizador que normalmente não é lembrado quando falamos dos melhores, contudo achei engraçado que não tivessem incluído, injustamente, o Being There (1979) que se segue ao último referido na lista, Coming Home (1978). E sim, também acho que existe diversos realizadores que deviam estar nesta lista, o Martin Scorcese (filmes realizados entre 1976-1982) ou Billy Wilder (filmes realizados entre 1950-1955), por exemplo. E por falar em nomes menos consagrados, o que dizer sobre esta sequência:
