War of the Worlds (2005) - Steven Spielberg

ATENÇÃO: Titulo do filme vai mudar:

'Out of the Night' ?! I'm shockedThe anticipated Paramount adaptation of H.G. Well's 1989 novel, The War of the Worlds, is now going by a new title - "Out of the Night". The Steven Spielberg-directed film, starring Tom Cruise and Dakota Fanning, is slated for a Summer 2005 release date.
Besides the studio actually renaming the film (which would probably lead to a negative fan reaction), several other things can be happening instead.
The movie starts shooting in November and "Out of the Night" could be its title during production, to keep unwanted guests away from set locations, among other things. Also, movies are often named differently overseas, which could be another possibility.
The studio had no comment on the "Out of the Night" title.

Retirado do site DarkHorizons
E esse não é o estilo de Spielberg."The War of the Worlds: Despite UK tabloid reports, Paramount has confirmed the remake will NOT be the reported $190 million budget, rather only half that thanks a lot to Spielberg's thriftyness.

WAR OF THE WORLDS BEGINS SOONER THAN EXPECTED
You might recall reading a few years ago about a new adaptation of H.G. Wells' classic story War of the Worlds from a company called Pendragon Pictures. It was to be a contemporary version of the story, and had made it to the casting phase (Michael Caine was attached) before the events of 9/11 made a film about a city under siege seem like an idea that's not so great.
And that was the last we heard of their War of the Worlds movie.
Until now. As it turns out, Pendragon has been quietly reworking the project into a faithful adaptation of Wells' novel. They've set the story at the turn of the 20th century, assembled a cast of relative unknowns... and already shot the damn thing in England and the Pacific Northwest.
The film, directed by Timothy Hines (who has led the charge from the project's beginnings), will now enter post-production where CGI and miniatures join the full-scale models and mechanical effects already filmed. The plan is to release the film in Spring 2005.
Of course, you may have heard that Tom Cruise and Steven Spielberg are reuniting on a project called... War of the Worlds. The filmmakers at Pendragon are unconcerned. "Now that they have announced that they are doing a modern version, I think there's room for both our productions to exist," says Hines. "From what I understand, they are changing the story dramatically, whereas we have point-by-point recreated the book for the screen. Our production of War of the Worlds is set at the turn-of-the-century. We're almost a back story to their version, sort of like a prequel."
Well, Pendragon may have a decimal point of Cruise/Spielberg's $200 million-plus budget powerhouse, but I'm still looking forward to their more authentic adaptation of the material. For those who aren't familiar with the tale (and I have no idea how that's possible), Wells' story chronicles an alien invasion of Victorian-era England. It was made even more famous with a Halloween 1938 radio broadcast from Orson Welles that caused people to believe an actual Martian invasion was taking place in New Jersey (of all places).

And now for something completely different...

'The time Machine' de H.G.
