Vi-o algures na net e fiquei desiludida! Nem sequer me tinha lembrado do Alien Quadrology...

Nem sequer é Quadrology, é Quadrilogy, ao menos digam bem a palavra. Sim, é uma invenção da Fox, mas é com i e não com o.

Sylvester Stallone tem uma coisa muito boa nos filmes dele de conseguir transmitir veracidade a seus personagens, e mesmo em um filme com a estória e roteiro fracos como no rambo 4, ele consegue fazer parecer real quando entra em cena... pelo menos a diversão é garantida...rs

Parece que afinal a história vai ser outra e, na minha opinião, bem mais interessante. Traficantes e uma menina raptada ? Nope. Super-soldados. E ao que parece já tem título: Rambo: The Savage Hunt.

UPDATE: Hey folks, Harry here again. Woke up to a voice mail from Stallone that he wished for me to share with all of y'all. This is the actual and complete voice mail from Sly as he explains that this isn't UNIVERSAL SOLDIER, but something different. I thought about transcribing it, but honestly... Sly's voice explaining his thoughts about RAMBO 5... well, it should be heard. For me, I'm excited as hell about this because it doesn't at all sound like any of the prior Rambo scenarios. I love the idea of Rambo tracking, hunting and using his cunning - rather than just blowing people to itty bitty pieces... though I hope there's a bit of that here too. Can never get enough of dissembling an enemy with a high powered automatic weapon. Right?

Hey folks, Harry here... I'm fascinated by the conversation I had spontaneously just had with Sylvester Stallone. Apparently there are a lot of rumors out there about the next RAMBO, some of which have been floated by the Trades - but the reality is quite a bit different. It does involve Rambo back in the United States. But from what Sly told me, it is structured quite a bit different.

You see, it is set in the Pacific Northwest. Back in the general area where we first were introduced to John. It seems that somewhere in that Area there is a U.S. Military installation that is doing experiments on elite soldiers as part of some sort of program where they're attempting to tap into that SAVAGERY that we have deeply embedded into us. The plan is create brilliantly instinctual killer soldiers that have no qualms about taking life. Sly brought up the ancient Immortals, which were cartoonishly glimpsed in 300. In reality, they were children trained from the time they were infants to kill.

Well as happens with Government Experiments to create the perfect killer - it goes exceptionally well... and then exceptionally badly. And Rambo is brought in with a Black Ops squad ("Like in PREDATOR") to hunt, capture or kill this worse than Rambo killer.

As you should know, it is early on the project. They've whipped up a quicky one-sheet that will be somewhere around the Toronto Film Festival beginning tomorrow. You can see it here!

What has me excited about this story is the idea that Rambo is now the man chasing instead of being chased. The idea of John Rambo tracking a killer in the woods of the Pacific Northwest is just very cool sounding. So, what do you guys & gals think?

Epa, assim a priori, essa historia de experiencias de super soldados nao me agrada como pano de fundo para um filme do Rambo. Mas dou-lhe o beneficio da duvida e logo se ve quando e se o filme estiver completo.

E é por isso que de certa forma este 5º filme pode ser algo de interessante: o Rambo contra algo que pode ser bem mais perigoso que ele. Sinceramente, se o filme seguir esta linha, fico bastante entusiasmado.

A week ago we brought you the report from all the trades that Rambo 5 had been greenlit by Nu Image / Millennium, and that the story would be a Taken-like rescue mission set on the Mexican border. It turns out only half that story is correct, as Sylvester Stallone explained to Harry Knowles at the awesome Ain't It Cool.

The true plot, according to Sly, is much stranger, borderline sci-fi territory for the lunkish Vietnam vet. Set back in the Pacific Northwest where the whole saga began, it involves a secret US military installation where experiments are being carried out on elite soldiers, with a view to enhancing their primal savagery. This, needless to say, Ends Badly, and one John Rambo is brought in with a squad to shut the place down.

Now, when you hear about genetically enhanced super-soldiers, you may immediately think of Universal Soldier, or perhaps Paul WS Anderson's Kurt Russel sci-fi epic Soldier. But you would be wrong to think that, and Sly is way ahead of you. In another message on Harry's answerphone, he explains further:

"It's not a super-soldier, it's a feral beast; a thing. It’s this amalgamation of fury and intelligence and pure unadulterated rage, from before men became human – it’s inhuman! It's man's 'conscious' fighting his dark, uncontrollable unconscious. It has absolute cunning and intelligence and a will to survive that is only matched by Rambo’s."

A bit like Predator then, although Sly prefers Forbidden Planet ("where the doctor couldn't control his mind and his subconscious took over and became a savage killing machine") as an analogy.

So where the fourth instalment was rooted in a version of reality (Burma, mercenaries, missionaries), Rambo V: The Savage Hunt, as we're now to call it, will be running off in a far more fantastical direction. The poster above was knocked up for the Toronto Film Festival. Shooting starts in the spring.

Como assim é,nunca vi nenhum filme no cinema nem nunca irei ver.
Dele só vejo os filmes quando derem na televisão,quando muito em DVD.
É o oposto total à palavra "qualidade".
Com toda a carga subjectiva que a palavra "qualidade" tem .

Sylvester Stallone homenageado em Veneza

Slyvester Stallone será homenageado no Festival de Cinema de Veneza com o prémio «Jaeger-LeCoultre Glory to the Filmmaker Award», avança a agência «Reuters».

O prémio, que será entregue no dia 12 de Setembro durante a cerimónia de encerramento da 66º edição do festival, é dedicado aos artistas que tenham deixado uma marca notável no cinema contemporâneo.

«Trata-se de um prémio que pretende reconhecer a dimensão de cineasta de Stallone, autor de um cinema visivelmente original e cheio de ternura, mesmo quando há sangue», disseram os organizadores em comunicado de imprensa.

Na entrega do prémio serão, ainda, apresentadas cenas do novo filme escrito, realizado e interpretado por Stallone, «Os Mercenários», filmado em parte no Brasil.

O actor de «Rocky Balboa» estreou-se como realizador em 1978, com o filme Paradise Alley.

Já foram homenageados em tal categoria o realizador e actor japonês, Takeshi Kitano, o realizador iraniano Abbas Kiarostami e a cineasta belga Agnès Varda.

Ri-me a ler a suposta plot deste Rambo 5 Savage Hunt...adoro o titulo

Parece pouco Rambo mas é melhor esperar para ver . O Rambo 1 continua a ser o grande filme da saga pois nao é de todo um filme puro de accao...no entanto , entre os outros 3 , o Rambo 4 dá uma coca a qualquer um. Um dos grandes filmes de accao que os EUA produziram nesta ultima decada.
