Drag Me to Hell (2009) - Sam Raimi
O regresso de Sam Raimi ao género de terror:
http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/hr/con ... 1656a82102Page to star in Raimi's 'Hell'
Ellen Page, hot off the success of "Juno," will star in the horror film "Drag Me to Hell," Sam Raimi's first directorial outing since "Spider-Man 3."
Universal has acquired domestic and select international rights to "Hell," which Raimi wrote with his brother Ivan Raimi. The picture was developed at Ghost House, the joint venture between Mandate Pictures and Raimi and his producing partner Rob Tapert.
"Hell" is slated to begin principal photography in Los Angeles on March 17.
Universal will distribute in North America, Germany, Spain and Latin America. Mandate International will handle all other international territories. " Hell" will be produced by Tapert, Grant Curtis and Josh Donen and executive produced by Nathan Kahane and Joe Drake.
It will be the first feature Raimi directs for Ghost House, which has turned out such titles as "The Grudge" movies, "Boogeyman" and "30 Days of Night."
Mandate was one of the producers of the current hit "Juno," which has supercharged Page's career. Nominated for an Oscar as best lead actress, Page next appears in Miramax's "Smart People" and is also slated to star in "Whip It," which Drew Barrymore is directing.
"Sam Raimi's return to horror is a cause for celebration for horror fans and movie lovers everywhere," said Marc Shmuger and David Linde, Universal chairman and co-chairman. "We are tremendously excited to be bringing this movie to audiences, and having Ellen Page, one of today's most gifted and relatable young actors, onboard to star is an abundance of riches."
Uni president of production Donna Langley was instrumental in bringing the project to the studio; the deal was made by Jimmy Horowitz, co-president of production, and Jason Resnick, senior vp and general manager, worldwide acquisitions, for Universal; and Rob McEntegart, exec vp, business affairs, for Mandate. Uni vp, production Lawrence Grey will oversee for the studio.
Ellen Page desiste do papel devido a problemas de agenda. Aqui fica o press release:
Los Angeles (February 29, 2008) – Ellen Page is no longer available for Sam Raimi's supernatural thriller Drag Me to Hell due to scheduling conflicts caused by a change in the start date of the production.
The film is directed by Sam Raimi and written by Raimi and his brother Ivan.
In a joint statement from Ghost House Pictures and Mandate Pictures:
"We were racing to start production so that we could accommodate Ellen's schedule. But like so many other productions trying to start before the potential SAG strike date, this one needed more time and we had to push back the start of production."

Trailer: http://movies.yahoo.com/movie/1810029193/video/12431635
http://www.dragmetohell.net/Christine Brown (Alison Lohman) is an ambitious L.A. loan officer with a charming boyfriend, professor Clay Dalton (Justin Long). Life is good until the mysterious Mrs. Ganush (Lorna Raver) arrives at the bank to beg for an extension on her home loan. Should Christine follow her instincts and give the old woman a break? Or should she deny the extension to impress her boss, Mr. Jacks (David Paymer), and get a leg-up on a promotion? Christine fatefully chooses the latter, shaming Mrs. Ganush and dispossessing her of her home.
In retaliation, the old woman places the powerful curse of the Lamia on Christine, transforming her life into a living hell. Haunted by an evil spirit and misunderstood by a skeptical boyfriend, she seeks the aid of seer Rham Jas (Dileep Rao) to save her soul from eternal damnation. To help the shattered Christine return her life to normal, the psychic sets her on a frantic course to reverse the spell. As evil forces close in, Christine must face the unthinkable: how far will she go to break free of the curse?

Gostei do trailer. O regresso do Raimi ao género vai ser em grande
Tenho tantas saudades de um filme do Raimi puro.

Quase 16 milhões no box office. 142 críticas positivas contra 10 negativas no RT. 7.8/10. Nada mau.
