While traveling in a trailer through the desert to California, the retired detective Big Bob Carter stops in an isolated gas station with his family for fueling and rest. When they leave the gas station, the owner advises Bob to stay in the main road. However, the stubborn driver takes a shortcut through a nuclear testing site and wrecks his station wagon. With the family stranded in the middle of nowhere, Bob and Doug walk on the road trying to find some help. Bob is captured by an insane and sadistic member of a deranged evil family that lives nearby the spot. Eu até estou de acordo em alugar o filme (seja o Los Sin Nombre ou outro qualquer) antes de comprar o DVD , porque o dinheiro custa a ganhar e pode-se apanhar uma desilusao , agora chegar ao ponto de nao recomendar nenhum filme do Jaume Balagueró
O Los Sin Nombre hoje pode nao ter o impacto que teve em 1999 ,mas fez com que o cinema fantastico espanhol acordasse pois tiveram os anos de ouro na decada de 70,80 com o Paul Naschy ,Narciso Ibañez Serrador entre outros e na decada de 90 quase nao havia cinema fantastico em Espanha , penso que o Jaume Balagueró foi bastante importante para esta nova fase de cinema fantastico espanhol , nao é por acaso que o filme obteve premios em Sitges , no Fantasporto , no festival de Gerardmer em França entre muitos outros.

Do Jaume Balagueró já vi o Darkness (que achei muito fraco e não recomendo) e o Los sin nombre, que comprei e vendi. Este último, sendo melhor que o Darkness, está muito longe de ser um bom filme. Tem um ritmo demasiado lento, 3 ou 4 momentos bem apanhados, um twist final previsivel e um actor britânico (Brendan Price) que mete nojo aos cães a falar castelhano. Aliás, foi esta última característica do filme que me fez vendê-lo. Independentemente de ser ou não relevante e influente no panorama cinematográfico Espanhol, quanto a mim é um filme a evitar. Ainda não vi o REC mas a julgar pelo que vi até agora também não aconselharia a ninguém os filmes do Jaume Balagueró.

A propósito do cinema fantástico Espanhol, aconselho a Trilogia de la muerte do realizador Nacho Cerdá, o mesmo que fez The Abandoned.

São três curtas metragens, sendo que a curta, Aftermath (não aconselhável a pessoas impressionáveis) é talvez a mais conhecida.

Está neste momento a filmar o documentário Coffins of light, basedo no filme do infame realizador Espanhol Sergio del Monte "Ataúdes de luz". E com entrevistas a Narciso Ibañez Serrador, Jesús Franco e Paul Naschy, entre outros.
Filme que segundo ele, com a ajuda de várias técnicas de luz, conseguia filmar "coisas invisíveis ao olho Humano", após três dias de filmagens foi assassinado, num ritual com contornos macabros.
Conta-se que os produtores morreram de um tumor no cérebro após o visionamento das filmagens feitas por Sergio del Monte.

É por isso que anseio bastante por este documentário de Nacho Cerdá.

O The Abandoned realmente é um filme que também gostei bastante, aquele ambiente escuro na casa é de arrepiar, então quando ela encontra a "outra" fiquei geladinho.

O cinema fantástico é um dos meus temas preferidos em termos de cinema. Só vi agora este tópico, pois é raro vir a esta área. No entanto, reparei que ninguém falou num dos filmes que para mim é um dos melhores do género, aliás já o referi várias vezes.
