Relativamente aos filmes do estúdio Shaw Brothers ( que até 1983 dominou a produção cinematográfica na Ásia Oriental com uma série de comédias, musicais e filmes de artes marciais ), verifo que a cd-wow tem muitos títulos a preços convidativos.

As edições IVL vão do aceitável ao aborrecido. Umas são 4:3 letterbox outras anamórficas a martelo e outras, aparentemente, melhorzinhas. Acho que as mais recentes são aceitáveis. Vão sair para o ano alguns no RU e já têm saído outros em França, que terão, penso eu, melhor qualidade. Os preços também serão mais altos.

Da lista só conheco o Three Smiles que é um musical, opera de Huangmei.

Acho que o ICE Angel poderá falar com mais conhecimento de causa sobre a qualidade das edições, bem como dar recomendações de artes marciais "old school".

À partida há uma série de títulos importantes de Chang Che (Zhang Che, Chang Cheh), como One Armed Swordsman, Blood Brothers, Golden Swallow, espécie de sequela de outro título importante - Come Drink with Me, de King Hu.

Suponho que tens uma ideia do que te espera, formalmente falando. Muitos destes filmes envelheceram mal e a acção é muito "teatral", ainda muito presa à Ópera de Pequim. Vi o Blood Brothers e o One Armed Swordsman numa sala com algumas centenas de pessoas e foi uma experiência um tanto ou quanto insuportável, com toda a gente sempre em grande galhofa. Também "ajudou" à festa o facto de ser em Espanha, não haver legendas senão em inglês e a maioria dos espectadores estar com headphones para tradução simultânea...
