[No Angel]

Plot:
Born in Boston, Massachusetts in 1932, Plath developed a precocious talent as a writer, publishing her first poem when she was only eight years old. That same year, tragedy introduced itself into her life as Plath was forced to confront the unexpected death of her father. In 1950, she began studying at Smith College on a literary scholarship, and while she was an outstanding student, she also began suffering from bouts of extreme depression. Following her junior year, she attempted suicide for the first time. Plath survived, and, in 1955, she was granted a Fulbright Scholarship to study in England at the University of Cambridge. While in Great Britain, Plath met Ted Hughes, a respected author, who would later become the British Poet Laureate. The two fell in love and married in 1956. Marriage, family and a growing reputation as an important poet nonetheless failed to bring Plath happiness. She became increasingly fascinated with death, a highly visible theme in her later poetry and her sole novel, The Bell Jar. After Hughes left her for another woman, her depression went into a tailspin from which she never recovered.

Este é um filme que eu gostei muito. Talvez seja uma coisa pessoal, mas gostei imenso da historia e despertou-me para a obra de Sylvia Plath. Tenho de ver se leio o The Bell Jar, alguem daqui leu?

Bem, voltando ao filme, as atuaçoes dos protagonistas sao fantasticas e a banda sonora e muito bonita. E a historia em si e muito boa. Gostei particularmente da segunda metade do filme, onde a depressao da Sylvia mais se evidencia.

Enfim, acho que toda a gente tem filme que gostamos mas que nao sao do agrado geral nem considerados muito bons, e eu tenho este e o Tess, do Polanski, que adoro completamente.

O Tess anda lá vou, mas este aqui não me encheu as medidas - é um filme bastante monótono e algo depressivo (pudera... ).

Gostei muito, contudo, da prestação do par, com destaque para a Paltrow. Foi o suficiente para não ter dado o meu tempo como perdido.

Os filmes que eu mais gosto tem tendencia a ser depressivos, ate porque eu nao gosto de comedias, no geral

Sim, a Paltrow e o Craig dao duas grandes atuaçoes e alem disso a banda sonora e muito bonita.

E o final, é simplesmente espantoso!

A cena do suicidio foi muito bem feita!

Eu simplesmente adorei, ja o vi duas vezes e marcou-me imenso, talvez por me identificar com a Sylvia
