Isto são excertos de testes do DV88, mas a própria Arcam diz que os seus DVDs têm a mesma performance que os seus CDs, só o topo de gama supera o FMJ, e o DV88 é equiparável aos CDs Diva...

eu estava inclinado para o arcam cd72, optei pelo Rotel 1070...

são so dois fantásticos mas bastantes diferentes, o arcam tem o som tradicionalmente para os britânicos, o Rotel é mais neutro...

É isso , tb fiquei impressionado com o Arcam a tocar cd, é como diz no teu excerto, está ao nivel dos melhores leitores de cd até 500 libras, mas quando ouvi o Sonneteer Bronte fiquei pasmado, estava lá o que faltava no Arcam e no entanto quando estava a ouvir o Arcam não sabia o que era, a profundidade dos agudos, acho que é o ponto fraco do Arcam, os agudos são suaves mas pouco profundos.

Ui tu optaste por o Rotel, o Rotel tem DAC 18Bit da Burr Brown e o Arcam tem DAC 24Bit também da Burr Brown, acho a diferênça considerável.
Para não falar nos transportes que é costume na Arcam usar os transportes da Meridian que são dos melhores que existem.

Estamos a comparar a performance de um DVD da Arcam com os "melhores" leitores de CD's como diz o transcript da review ???
Por 500 libras ??

Um leitor de CD's da Meridian pode custar 3 ou 4 mil libras...nao 500 !! Há uma diferença...

Apesar que a Meridian diz mesmo que o DVD deles tem a performance do CD deles....agora se tem ou nao....pelo menos o leitor é o mesmo, ambos usam o leitor DVD-ROM de PC com correcção de erros.

por acaso nem sabia disso, as caracteristicas não são tudo... o que conta são os ouvidos...

e pelos vistos os meus até não funcionam mal (fui ver estas reviews agora, nunca as tinha visto) e o dac do 1070 pode ser 18 bit mas é mais recente que o 24 bit do cd72...

É possivel que toque melhor, as caracteristicas não tocam, e lembro-me de á uns tempos um comparativo de leitores de CD numa revista Inglesa salvo erro em que o pior em caracteristicas ficou em segundo lugar, acho que era um Classé.
Mas que essa diferença nos DACS salta logo á vista é verdade, e como 96Khz 24Bit é o valor utilizado pelas referências de leitores de cd uma vez que pelo o que os construtores dizem que acima disso não vem nada de novo pois já exploram tudo da leitura do cd, eu pareceu-me lógico citar, nada mais uma vez que não os conheço.

As características não tocam, mas a sinergia toca e muito, eles próprios dizem que não havia sinergia com o amplificador, de qualquer maneira os Arcam são muito mais populares nos USA, Audio Asylum, por alguma razão... [8)]

Pensei que o valor actual de referêncai é 192Khz 24Bits... [:0]

Além de que esse Arcam usa um transporte SONY [:p], os DVDs usam drives de PC americanas, como os Meridian... [8D]

Em leitores de cd não, os novos formatos como Home cinema o SACD e o DVDA é que já exploram até 192Khz e já com duplos DACS 32Bit e não sei onde vai parar com taxas de amostragem cada vez mais elevadas.

Os transportes da Sony são muito utilizados em grandes leitores de cd , dizem que são muito fieis e robustos e depois as marcas utilizam os seus conhecimentos no resto e no final temos leitores que nada têm a ver com o transporte.

Gostaria ainda de saber a vossa opinião acerca de outro leitor de dvd, recentemente lançado, o Denon 2900. É ainda uma outra opção à roda dos 1000€, com PAL progressive.

Em termos de musicalidade qual a vossa experiência relativamente à Denon ? Isto embora comparativamente ao 88+, a diferença de preço ser ainda consideravel ....
