Descodificador de Closed Captions

Acho que este tópico deve interessar a todos !!!

Como cada vez surgem mais legendas em Inglês apenas neste formato pergunto:

Onde arranjar a preços convidativos um destes aparelhos ?

( sim...já sei que existe software para o computador para este efeito mas eu quero mesmo um descodificador para o televisor. )

Já agora...este tipo de legendas é ou não , na maior parte dos casos , semelhante às legendas do tipo "Inglês para deficientes auditivos " ?

"Closed captions on DVDs are carried in the MPEG-2 video stream and are sent automatically to the TV. They cannot be turned on or off from the DVD player. They are stored as individual character codes (one character per field) Subtitles, on the other hand, are DVD sub pictures. Sub pictures, also can be used to create captions. To differentiate NSTC Closed Captions from subtitles, captions created as sub pictures are usually called “caption for the hearing impaired.” Some DVD players do not output NSTC Closed Captions. DVD does not support PAL Teletext, the much-improved European equivalent of Closed Captions. Essentially, captions are subtitles, translations of the spoken word to the written, which permit deaf and hard-of-hearing people to see what they cannot hear. There are two kinds of captioning--open and closed. Open captions always appear on the screen, while closed captions must be "opened" to be seen. Closed captioning is the process whereby captions are converted to electronic codes and inserted in the regular television signal, specifically on Line 21, a portion of the picture normally not seen. There are 525 horizontal lines in the television picture. Line 21 appears at the top of the picture and occurs just prior to the start of the picture-information-carrying lines."

Esse assunto é complicado. Ainda não cheguei a nenhuma conclusão. Talvez ligar a tv ao pc, porque no pc consigo visioná-las.

o grande problema é que pelo que vi, estão todos preparados para receber sinal de tv e não de DVD... as entradas são quase sempre RF, mas deve haver algum com s-video...

Há sempre a pagina da Assoc. de deficientes auditivos do UK [:)]
Curiosamente só falam em decoders para VHS e TV, quanto a DVD's falam da capacidade de descodificação dos proprios DVD's (ex. CyberHome 505). No entanto tem links para lojas que vendem este tipo de produtos. Com um mail provavelmente eles esclarecerão isso...

Ao que parece a versão à venda no UK sim. A que se vende cá, não sei. Nem tão pouco se será uma questão de firmware (o que me parece mais provavel) ou de hardware.
Uma boa maneira de saber seria se alguém daqui tivesse um e pudesse experimentar.

E segundo o NMSILVA também o Toshiba SD 510E suporta. Isto é mesmo novidade para mim.
