Não sei... a mim agrada-me imenso o Haley.

Look-Alikes Being Cast for Watchmen
Source: LA Daily News
July 3, 2007

The LA Daily News reports that the Watchmen production is facing a challenge when it comes to casting look-alikes of famous names for the big screen adaptation:

A challenging casting task involving look-alikes is under way for Warner Bros.' "Watchmen" adaptation of Alan Moore's 1980s graphic novel set in an alternative universe's United States. Names include Richard Nixon, Henry Kissinger, H.R. Haldeman, Ted Koppel, John McLaughlin, Annie Liebowitz, John Lennon and Yoko Ono, Fidel Castro, Albert Einstein, Norman Rockwell, JFK and Jackie Kennedy, Andy Warhol, Mao Tze Tung and Larry King. That's going to be quite a movie.

The film will be directed by 300 helmer Zack Snyder. No cast members have been officially announced.

Sinopse oficial:
Watchmen" is set in an alternate 1985 America in which costumed superheroes are part of the fabric of everyday society, and the "Doomsday Clock" – which charts the USA's tension with the Soviet Union – is permanently set at five minutes to midnight. When one of his former colleagues is murdered, the washed up but no less determined masked vigilante Rorschach sets out to uncover a plot to kill and discredit all past and present superheroes. As he reconnects with his former crime-fighting legion – a ragtag group of retired superheroes, only one of whom has true powers – Rorschach glimpses a wide-ranging and disturbing conspiracy with links to their shared past and catastrophic consequences for the future. Their mission is to watch over humanity... but who is watching the Watchmen?
Parece dar grande ênfase ao Rorschach que é sem dúvida a personagem mais popular da obra, mas não sei se será a principal (nem me parece que tal coisa lá exista). Mas já se sabe que em adaptações é preciso fazer certo tipo de concessões...

Casting call (SPOILERS!!:)
Fresh from the FAX, some sides for the upcoming “Watchmen” movie. Hopefully Warwick Davis spots the call and puts his hand up for Big Figure.

Sally: Laurie's mother, Sally is a former superhero: a beautiful, fit woman in her 30s (actress will play age 25 - 65). One of the original 'Watchmen', she's a woman with secrets. A woman who starts drinking in the early afternoon and whose condo is full of souvenirs from her crime-fighting days. Sally was almost raped by Edward Blake (The Comedian), an event that almost broke up the original group. But she (literally) kissed and made up with Blake years later, and has kept secret the fact that he is Laurie's biological father. Requires some nudity and intense physicality;

Moloch / Edgar Jacobi: Mid-Late 60s. This withered older man is a former supervillain, now dying of cancer, seen placing flowers on the grave of The Comedian. Recognized by Rorschach as The Comedian's former arch-enemy, he's aggressively questioned and intimidated by Rorschach in his home, and reveals that a blubbering, drunken Comedian broke into his home right before his death;

Big Figure: A midget supervillain, with silver hair combed neatly back and a big cigar in his mouth, Big Figure has a score to settle with superhero Rorschach, and he bides his time, waiting for a chance to see him die by inches. Big Figure has been waiting for this moment for 15 years, but when the prison explodes in a riot, he tries (and fails) to get his hands on the slippery Rorschach

Body Builder: Male, 5'10"-6'0" tall, natural or professional bodybuilder, really vascular and lean, in their physical prime. Performer used only for visual effects purposes.

Bem a tipa nunca a vi, é bonita e mais não sei. Agora o Jackie Earle Haley teve um GRANDE papel no Little Children e parece-me uma boa escolha.

IESB Exclusive: So Who Is Ozymandias in Zack Snyder’s Watchmen?
Written by Robert Sanchez
Sunday, 22 July 2007

IESB Exclusive: So Who Is Ozymandias in Zack Snyder’s Watchmen? Most would answer Jude Law right? In the words of Lex Luthor, WRONG!!!!

We’re days away from the biggest geek convention in the world, San Diego Comic Con and we can’t let our boys over at Latinoreview.com with their Punisher and Watchmen announcements have all the fun before we go.

The IESB can exclusively report that the role of Adrian Veidt/Oxymandias in Zack Snyder’s Watchmen has been given to Matthew Goode. Goode joins the likes of Billy Crudup as Dr. Manhatton, Patrick Wilson as The Night Owl (both confirmed by our source), Malin Ackerman as Silk Spectre (LR) and Jackie Earle Haley as Rorschach.

Goode is an English actor who studied at the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Arts in London and has starred in a few films including Match Point, The Lookout and most recently Brideshead Revisited with Emma Thompson and Michael Gambon.

Watchmen is a twelve issue comic book written by Alan Moore and David Gibbons originally published by DC Comics as a monthly limited series from 1986 to 1987. It was the first superhero comic book to present itself as serious literature.

Watch for an official announcement to be made at Comic Con this coming week!
Bom, pela idade deste e dos outros actores, dá a entender que o Zack Snyder vai dar alguma ênfase aos Minutemen. Espero é que depois o envelhecimento seja decente. :-?
