The X Files 2: I Want to Believe (2008) - Chris Carter
Deixem-me desenterrar este tópico para vos dizer que finalmente temos mais noticias sobre a (possivel) sequela:

Link: http://www.scifi.com/scifiwire/index.ph ... 0&id=36201"X-Files" writer Frank Spotnitz seems pretty certain that a second movie version of the cult TV series will happen ... eventually. But there's still the issue of a lawsuit between Fox and X-Creator Chris Carter that has to be ironed out first.
"One point of contention in getting a second "X-Files" film off the ground: Series creator Chris Carter is still wrangling with 20th Century Fox over legal matters. "David, Gillian and I, and even Chris Carter, all have deals in place, and once the legal issues are over with, we will go on with it," Spotnitz said. "I'm hoping it will get resolved soon."
Although the script isn't written, the idea is already developed, Spotnitz said. He added that Fox likes the idea, which harkens back to the series' stand-alone episodes rather than the conspiracy to cover up the existence of extra-terrestrials, which was the subject of the first X-Files movie."

Vamos lá ver. After the “Californication” panel yesterday, David Duchovny was literally SWARMED by writers with their recorders extended…and, yes, I was one of them. But, eventually, my arm got tired - I was having to stretch over the shoulder of another fella - and I have to give up the ghost. Still, I got this pic, and I also got this valuable info:
Duchovny is anticipating that he’ll finally, FINALLY be receiving the script to the forever-gestating “X-Files” movie sequel. It’s a co-write by Chris Carter and Frank Spotnitz, which longtime fans of the show will be giddy about, given that Carter, of course, is the show’s creator, while Spotnitz wrote, story-edited, and produced many fine episodes for the series. (Carter will also direct, according to Duchovny.) Gillian Anderson is on board, as you’ve no doubt heard rumored…but, then, this flick has been nothing but rumors for the longest time. Lord knows we’ve heard rumors that a script was on the way before. So what makes this different?
“This time,” says Duchovny, “I really am supposed to get the script next week. And I’m looking forward to seeing what (Chris) did.”
It’s to be a one-off script, i.e. there are no intentions to continue the franchise as an ongoing series of sequels, and - all things being equal - the plan is for filming to begin later this year, with a release date for sometime in 2008.
Bonus anecdote: Evan Handler, who plays Duchovny’s character’s agent on “Californication,” joked, “It’s going to open the same weekend as the ‘Sex and the City’ movie.” Duchovny’s reply: “We’re gonna crush ‘em!”

Finalmente!

After years of David Duchovny talking about the sequel, and almost 10 years after the first feature, 20th Century is finally ready to start production on The X Files 2 with the actor in place to reprise his role of Special Agent Fox Mulder. Gillian Anderson is also expected to be back on board to play Special Agent Dana Scully.
Shooting is scheduled to begin on December 10 in Vancouver under the direction of series creator Chris Carter. Carter and Frank Spotnitz wrote the script.
The studio is referring to the film in casting breakdowns as "Done One."
The popular series ran on Fox from 1993 to 2002. Rob Bowman directed the first feature, which hit theaters on June 19, 1998.

Fox sets date for 'X-Files' sequel
Scully, Mulder return to theaters on July 25

The 1998 'X-Files' feature grossed $187 million worldwide.
The long-awaited second "X-Files" film is finally a go, with 20th Century Fox setting a July 25, 2008 release date.
Untitled project reunites "X-Files" creator Chris Carter will thesps David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson, who will reprise their signature roles as FBI agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully.
Carter begins lensing in December in Vancouver from a script he co-wrote with Frank Spotnitz, a veteran scribe of the long-running "X-Files" television series, which became a worldwide hit during its 1993-2002 run on the Fox network. Spotnitz also co-wrote with Carter the screenplay for 1998 feature "X-Files." Carter and Spotnitz will also serve as producers.
Studio is keeping the film's logline under wraps, but stressed the pic is a stand-alone story and supernatural thriller that takes the complicated relationship between Mulder and Scully in new directions.
As of now, there are only two other titles skedded for July 25, both comedies. Sony unspools Will Ferrell-John C. Reilly starrer "Step Brothers," directed by Adam McKay, while MGM has bows untitled Ice Cube family laffer.
Plan to bring the "X-Files" sequel to the bigscreen was waylaid when Chris Carter brought a 2005 lawsuit against Fox over how the "X-Files" syndication profits were divvied up. Suit was later settled.
Earlier this year, the issue seemed to have been resolved, with Duchovny and Anderson both indicating that the film was finally moving forward.
Released in 1998, feature film "The X-Files" grossed $187 million worldwide, including a domestic haul of $83.9 million and an international cume of more than $103 million.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Xzibit and Peet will play fellow FBI agents to David Duchovny's Mulder and Gillian Anderson's Scully in the supernatural thriller with a stand-alone story, not a sequel or continuation of the hit 1998 feature adaptation.
Carter and Frank Spotnitz wrote the screenplay, and production is expected to begin this month in Vancouver. The film is set to hit theaters on July 25.

The film, which remains without a formal title, will dump the long-running "mythology" plotline — that aliens live among us and are part of a colonizing effort — that made it one of the most popular television shows in the late 1990s but ultimately drove away some viewers who found it too complex and ambiguous.
"We spent a lot of time on (the mythology) and wrapped up a lot of threads" when the show went off the air in 2002, says Chris Carter, creator of the series and director of the new movie. "We want a stand-alone movie, not a mythology conspiracy one."

WonderCon: X-Files 2 Sneaked
Fox unveiled the first footage from its upcoming second The X-Files movie at WonderCon in San Francisco on Feb. 23, featuring the first look at the new versions of Mulder (David Duchovny) and Scully (Gillian Anderson).
The footage preceded a panel that featured the two stars, writer/producer Frank Spotnitz and writer/director Chris Carter.
The footage began with a line of FBI agents searching a snowy field, poking it with sticks, with dogs ahead and a helicopter buzzing overhead.
They are following a man with long white hair, played by Billy Connolly, who yells "It's here! It's here!"
A succession of quick cuts follows, featuring a body being dragged across the ground, a look at Scully with newly long red hair, what appears to be an autopsy, Mulder in a car that gets T-boned by another vehicle.
Back in the snowy field, Connolly falls to his knees, digs, then looks up with his eyes bleeding. There's a quick cut of Scully clearing away snow from ice, revealing a body underneath. The footage ends with the release date: July 25, 2008. The as-yet-untitled sequel is still filming in Vancouver, Canada.
