NBC cancela Allegiange
NBC Thursday Shake-Up: Allegiance Cancelled, The Slap on the Move

NBC is pledging little Allegiance to its rookie spy drama, cancelling the series after five low-rated episodes.
The Slap, which is having its own ratings troubles on Thursdays at 8/7c, will take over Allegiance‘s 10/9c perch beginning next week.
At 8/7c, NBC will air Dateline: The Real Blacklist, a new investigative series hosted by Richard Engel that focuses on conspiracy-themed investigations and crimes that involve larger-than-life perpetrators and circumstances.
Allegiance premiered last month to sub-Parenthood numbers — 5 million total viewers and a 1.1 demo rating — and at last tally mustered just 3.4 mil/0.8.
The Slap, meanwhile, launched last month to 5.1 million total viewers and a 1.1 demo rating, and at last tally mustered 3.4 mil and a 0.8.

Jada Pinkett Smith on Returning for ‘Gotham’ Season 2: ‘I Don’t Think So’

Fox may have just lost a big fish: Jada Pinkett Smith doesn’t believe she’s returning to Batman prequel “Gotham” for Season 2.
The actress behind Fox villain Fish Mooney first made the announcement on Friday’s “Live With Kelly & Michael.” When asked about her participation on the upcoming sophomore run, Pinkett Smith told Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan: “I don’t think so, I signed for a year and the year’s up.”
“I’m holding out hope because, you never know, Fish Mooney could show up anywhere,” Strahan replied.
Pinkett Smith agreed: “Yeah, she could show up anywhere. You never know!”
But, probably not, in reality. Because later, Pinkett Smith simply told “Extra,” “We’re done.”
After breaking fans’ hearts, the actress teased “great things” coming up on “Gotham,” which will air four more episodes this season.
All producers would say is the following: “Fish Mooney’s storyline takes a lot of interesting twists and turns into the finale of season one of ‘Gotham.’”
Fox had no further comment.
“Gotham” has been a big hit for struggling Fox this fall season, though the comic book adaptation has settled a bit in the ratings since its strong start. As an 8 p.m. show, the Bruce Wayne origin story has been forced to be a self-starter.
Paired with a ratings slump for “Sleepy Hollow,” Monday nights have not sustained as the must-see live tune-in evening that Dana Walden and Gary Newman’s network had hoped.

Anna Paquin entra em mini-série da HBO
Anna Paquin To Star In ‘Madame X’ Mini In Works At HBO With Jack Black Producing

I have learned that HBO is in negotiations for Madame X, a period miniseries based on Kate Manning’s book My Notorious Life, which would be toplined by True Blood star Anna Paquin. She would be executive producing with her True Blood co-star/producing partner Stephen Moyer through their production company CASM and actor Jack Black through his Electric Dynamite banner.
Written by Julia Hart (The Keeping Room) and to be directed by Lynn Shelton (Your Sister’s Sister), Madame X, which will go through development, is set in Victorian New York City. Described as “a love story, a family saga, and the confessions of a charismatic and passionate woman who changed the lives of countless others”, it centers on Axie Muldoon (Paquin), one of the wealthiest and controversial women of her day. Inspired by the story of an infamous female physician, Axie helped her husband build a thriving midwife business and defied the law in the name of women’s reproductive rights.

The Expendables vai passar do cinema para a TV
'The Expendables' TV series in the works by FOX

It looks like fans will see more of Barney Ross and the gang, not only on the big screen but also on the small one. "The Expendables" will be everywhere soon as a TV series spin-off of the popular ensemble action film, which is described as a "fun action drama," is being worked on by FOX.

The title's main man Sylvester Stallone is currently in talks with the network about what the series, inspired by the film franchise, would be. The actors to play as the members of the deadly group have yet to be named, but Deadline says that "iconic" TV stars are to band together as trained and highly-skilled heroes to stop a dangerous terrorist on his tracks.

Deadline suggests the possible inclusion of Chuck Norris, who is an alumnus of the franchise, or Kiefer Sutherland from "24." The series could also do with Tom Selleck from "Magnum P.I." Meanwhile, New York Daily News reports that the spin-off is likely going for some mature action stars to lead the way. This will mark their very last routine assignment as an ensemble.

Greg Coolidge and Kirk Ward will write for the new "The Expendables" series. Shane Brennan will be the showrunner while Avi Lerner, the man who produced the trilogy, will join Stallone as executive producer. Further information about the upcoming series is expected to drop soon.

Even with a TV offshoot on the agenda, Stallone is still on the move for "The Expendables 4" and "The Expendables 5." There is also one in the works called "The Expendabelles," which will show an all-female group taking on the big missions.

The first film with Stallone, Jason Statham, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jet Li landed in theaters back in 2010 and was proved to be a blockbuster. As more sequels came in, more stars joined (or foiled the perilous missions). The most recent one titled "The Expendables 3" came out last year. It did not match that of its predecessors' performance but it still did great in the box-office. All throughout, the franchise already raked in about $750 million.

New 'iZombie' trailer explains the undead's need to eat brains

The CW has released a few new trailers for "iZombie" that give a clearer look at how the main character absorbs people's memories by eating their brains. The series debuts March 17.

We all know zombies love to eat brains, but what about a zombie who eats brains to help solve crimes? That's the premise behind "iZombie," a new TV series from "Veronica Mars" creator Rob Thomas set to debut on The CW later this month.

The CW has released two new trailers that tout the show's novel concept, and tell viewers how the main character, Liv, gets flashes of memories from dead people when she eats their brains. The series revolves around how Liv, an undead zombie who holds down a job in the morgue, uses her "gift" to help a medical examiner and a police detective solve crimes.

As previous teasers have revealed, Liv is a former medical student who attended the wrong party in college, and ended up being turned into a zombie. In the world of "iZombie," zombies must eat brains to maintain their intelligence, memories and human-like demeanor, or they'll revert into the slow-moving, dumb-as-doornails zombies we see in movies and TV shows like "The Walking Dead." So, Liv picks up a job at the morgue with its seemingly endless supply of cranial treats.

It's a unique concept for a zombie show, and I for one am excited to check it out. "iZombie" debuts on The CW on March 17, so grab some green beer and sit down on your couch to see for yourself if this show has any braaaaaains.

Image

No Conspiracy: FOX resurrects 'The X-Files' for 6-episode run

Capping off days of incessant rumors and years of slowly percolating buzz, FOX made it official on Tuesday (March 24) morning: "The X-Files" is coming back to TV.

The landmark sci-fi-tinged conspiracy drama, which ran 202 episodes on FOX between 1993 and 2002, will resume production in Summer 2015 on a six-episode event series. FOX will announce additional details, specifically a premiere date, later.

For now, what we know is that the key pieces of the "X-Files" puzzle are all back, specifically creator and executive producer Chris Carter and stars David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson.

"I think of it as a 13-year commercial break," Carter blurbs. "The good news is the world has only gotten that much stranger, a perfect time to tell these six stories."

The formal announcement came courtesy of Dana Walden and Gary Newman, Chairmen and CEOs of Fox Television Group, who also shepherded the show in their days at 20th Century Fox TV.

“We had the privilege of working with Chris on all nine seasons of 'The X-Files' -- one of the most rewarding creative experiences of our careers – and we couldn’t be more excited to explore that incredible world with him again," Newman and Walden state. "'The X-Files' was not only a seminal show for both the studio and the network, it was a worldwide phenomenon that shaped pop culture -- yet remained a true gem for the legions of fans who embraced it from the beginning. Few shows on television have drawn such dedicated fans as 'The X-Files,' and we’re ecstatic to give them the next thrilling chapter of Mulder and Scully they’ve been waiting for."

While generally remembered as a cult-y favorite, "The X-Files" spent two seasons among the Top 15 shows on TV, after surviving and eventually thriving in an initial three-season run on Fridays. And bucking the [entirely incorrect] contention that genre shows usually struggle with the TV Academy, "The X-Files" earned 62 Emmy nominations, including four for Outstanding Drama Series, and won 16 Emmys, including a 1997 win for Gillian Anderson.

The series was followed by 1998's "The X-Files: Fight The Future," which took in nearly $84 million domestic and $189 million worldwide, and 2008's far less successful "The X-Files: I Want To Believe," which took in only $21 million domestic and $68.37 million worldwide.

Duchovny and Anderson have gone back and forth over the years in terms of interest in bringing "X-Files" back in a TV form or in any form. As recently as 2013, I sat at the back of Ballroom 20 at Comic-Con and, when the possibility of a "24"-style limited reboot was brought up, Anderson blurted out "No!" before adding "But a film would be great." By last fall, her tune had already changed and now it seems like everybody is game.

NBC is, of course, staging its own Duchovny/Anderson reunion of sorts by pairing Duchovny's "Aquarius" with Anderson's "Hannibal" on Thursday nights this summer.

Stay tuned for more details.

House of Lies Renewed for Season 5

Showtime will continue to build its House of Lies.
The premium cabler has renewed its Don Cheadle-led comedy for a 10-episode fifth season, the network announced Tuesday.

The renewal comes just two days after Lies‘ Season 4 finale, in which Cheadle’s Marty fought to save his consulting firm from the brink, while Kristen Bell’s Jeannie gave birth to Marty’s baby.
“When you have a gifted acting ensemble led by Don Cheadle and smart, acerbic writing led by showrunner Matthew Carnahan, you expect something special, and House of Lies delivers for us each season,” Gary Levine, executive vice president of original programming at Showtime, said in a statement.

House of Lies Season 5 will debut in 2016.

David Lynch Says He’s Left Twin Peaks, Showtime Still Hopeful

Following weeks of rumors many hoped were unfounded, Easter Sunday brought breaking news that filmmaker and co-creator David Lynch has left the highly-anticipated “Twin Peaks” revival, scheduled to premiere on Showtime in 2016.

Early on Sunday, Twin Peaks Festival broke the rumor that Showtime had altogether cancelled the impending third season, written by co-creators Lynch and Mark Frost, and to be directed by Lynch. Later, Lynch himself clarified the goings on in a message his Twitter and Facebook accounts. It reads: “Dear Facebook Friends, Showtime did not pull the plug on Twin Peaks. After 1 year and 4 months of negotiations, I left because not enough money was offered to do the script the way I felt it needed to be done. This weekend I started to call actors to let them know I would not be directing. Twin Peaks may still be very much alive at Showtime. I love the world of Twin Peaks and wish things could have worked out differently.”

Showtime has since responded with the following: “We were saddened to read David Lynch’s statement today since we believed we were working towards solutions with David and his reps on the few remaining deal points. SHOWTIME also loves the world of Twin Peaks and we continue to hold out hope that we can bring it back in all its glory with both of its extraordinary creators, David Lynch and Mark Frost, at its helm.”

Apparently scripts for the third season have been written by Frost and Lynch, but if the series does move forward, many would certainly feel it lacking without the filmmaker’s iconic touch – which was supposed to unfold over nine episodes, shot on 35mm no less. Surely, we all hope some sort of agreement can be reached and Lynch returns.

“Twin Peaks” is the seminal, short-lived 1990-91 series by Frost and Lynch which chronicled the titular town and its inhabitants, as well as FBI Agent Dale Cooper, in the wake of the murder of Laura Palmer. “Peaks” was a massively influential cult series, telling a grim yet humorous, supernatural and distinctly Lynch-ian tale that had much of the world asking “Who killed Laura Palmer?” The show’s popularity swiftly declined after said question was answered and the second season seemed to drift aimlessly, before concluding in stunning manner. It was followed by Lynch’s undervalued Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me in 1992.

Dominic Cooper Nears Deal to Star in AMC’s Preacher!

Fresh off the news that Lucy Griffiths would appear in the comic book adaptation, TheWrap reports that Howard Stark himself, Dominic Cooper, is nearing a deal to star in AMC’s “Preacher” in the lead role of Jesse Custer. Perhaps best known for paying the father of Robert Downey Jr. in the Marvel Studios films, Cooper has also appeared in Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, Need for Speed, Dracula Untold, and can next be seen on the big screen in 2016’s Warcraft.

“Preacher,” published between 1995 and 2000, tells the story of Custer, a small town Texas preacher who, nearly at his faith’s end, finds himself merged with a supernatural entity, Genesis, birthed from both an angel and a demon. Imbued with the word of God (the ability to make anyone obey his commands), Jesse hits the road, reunited with his ex-girlfriend, Tulip, and joined by a rowdy Irish vampire, Cassidy, to track down God himself and force him to explain why he abandoned his duties in Heaven.

Cooper joins a cast that includes Joseph Gilgun as the vampire Cassidy, Ruth Negga as his gun-toting ex-girlfriend Tulip, Ian Colletti as the kindhearted yet startling Arseface, and Lucy Griffiths as Emily Woodrow, an original character in the series and love interest of Jesse’s.

A Sony Pictures Television and AMC Studios co-production, “Preacher” will be produced by Evan Goldberg and Seth Rogen through their Point Grey banner, along with Neal Moritz’s Original Film. The pilot was written by Sam Catlin and has Rogen and Goldberg attached to direct. “Preacher” is set to shoot this year with an eye toward premiering in 2016.

Marvel Entertainment Developing Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Spin-Off

Entertainment Weekly brings word today that Marvel Entertainment is quietly developing a spin-off to their hit TV series “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” Executive producer Jeffrey Bell and writer Paul Zbyszewski are shepherding the series together, though there’s no word on who or what will be the focus.

The magazine does note that, unlike “The Flash” or “Arrow,” there are no plans to incorporate a backdoor pilot into the remaining episodes of Season Two; however, “story elements” for the proposed series are said to be upcoming in future episodes of “S.H.I.E.L.D.” So be on the lookout for possible clues.

Should the spin-off be ordered, it will mark yet another of Marvel’s ventures into television following “Agent Carter” earlier this year and “Marvel’s Daredevil” that will debut tomorrow (along with the other “Defenders” in the next two years).

The spin-off is still not officially ordered by ABC in addition to a third season of “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,” so it could be some time before we hear more about what the series could be, but we’re betting on either Mockingbird or Deathlok. Who do you think the spin-off series will focus on? Let us know in the comments.

“Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” stars Clark Gregg as Agent Phil Coulson, Ming-Na Wen as Agent Melinda May, Brett Dalton as Grant Ward, Chloe Bennet as Skye, Iain De Caestecker as Agent Leo Fitz, Elizabeth Henstridge as Agent Jemma Simmons, Nick Blood as Lance Hunter, and Adrianne Palicki as Bobbi Morse.

Ainda sobre o spin-off the Agent of SHIELD:
Adrianne Palicki and Nick Blood Head to the Mysterious Marvel Spinoff Series
Are Lance Hunter and Mockingbird getting their own spinoff series? At the very least, they’re a big part of something new as The Hollywood Reporter just broke the news that Nick Blood and Adrianne Palicki will be starring on ABC’s upcoming “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” spinoff. Executive producer Jeffrey Bell and writer Paul Zbyszewski are shepherding the series together, though there’s no word what the new show’s focus will be. The trade does suggest, however, that the plot of the series will become clear after the end of “S.H.I.E.L.D.’s” second season. What’s more, they suggest that another show is on the way that will feature the “reinvention of an existing superhero character” with John Ridley developing.

Neither of the new series is 100% confirmed at this point, but both are being targeted to premiere sometime in 2016. It is also suggested that the odds are very much in favor of “S.H.I.E.L.D.” returning for a third season, but there’s no update on another season of “Marvel’s Agent Carter.”

How many Marvel series are you up for watching? What would you like the new shows to focus on? Share your thoughts in the comments below!

“Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” stars Clark Gregg as Agent Phil Coulson, Ming-Na Wen as Agent Melinda May, Brett Dalton as Grant Ward, Chloe Bennet as Skye, Iain De Caestecker as Agent Leo Fitz and Elizabeth Henstridge as Agent Jemma Simmons.
