Emily Thorne (Emily VanCamp), whose real name is Amanda Clark, decides to move back to the Hamptons to take revenge on the people who caused the destruction of her family and death of her father David (James Tupper). When she was a little girl, Emily/Amanda experienced her father getting arrested and her life getting completely destroyed. She ended up in juvenile detention center and inherited the wealth of her father on her 18th birthday. She changes her name to Emily and decides to take revenge on the people who caused the destruction of her family.

Diogo Morgado vai participar na terceira temporada de Revenge
O actor português Diogo Morgado, que alcançou a fama internacional ao protagonizar a mini-série A Bíblia – que acabou de ser nomeada para os Emmy, o equivalente aos Óscares na televisão – vai interpretar um médico no primeiro episódio da terceira temporada de Revenge, a série de televisão norte-americana baseada na obra O Conde de Montecristo.
Curiosamente, Diogo Morgado protagonizou em 2007 uma telenovela portuguesa que também era baseada no livro do francês Alexandre Dumas, Vingança, que por sua vez era a adaptação de um formato latino. Depois de desempenhar o papel de Jesus Cristo em A Bíblia, mini-série do canal História que bateu recordes de audiência na televisão por cabo norte-americana, Diogo Morgado tornou-se a nova estrela sensação de Hollywood, chegando a ser entrevistado pela popular apresentadora norte-americana Oprah Winfrey.
Revenge conta-nos a história de Amanda Clarke (protagonizada pela actriz Emily VanCamp), uma jovem que procura vingança depois do assassinato do seu pai, acusado injustamente de um atentado terrorista. Porém, o verdadeiro autor do crime foi Conrad (Henry Czerny), patriarca de uma das famílias mais ricas dos Estados Unidos, os Grayson. Amanda assume uma nova identidade, Emily Thorne, e regressa com o objectivo de destruir todos os membros do clã Grayson, incluindo a mulher de Conrad, Victoria (Madeleine Stowe), que no passado se envolveu romanticamente com o seu pai.
A ABC, cadeia de televisão norte-americana responsável pela produção e exibição da série, alcançou com Revenge níveis de audiência que já não obtinha desde o final de Lost.
Ainda é desconhecido o impacto que a personagem de Diogo Morgado vai ter na trama, embora os rumores mais recentes indiquem a personagem se vai cruzar com Ashley Davenport (Ashley Madekwe), empregada da família Grayson.
