Sinopse:

The Departed" is set in South Boston, where the state police force is waging war on organized crime. Young undercover cop Billy Costigan (Leonardo DiCaprio) is assigned to infiltrate the mob syndicate run by gangland chief Costello (Jack Nicholson). While Billy is quickly gaining Costello's confidence, Colin Sullivan (Matt Damon), a hardened young criminal who has infiltrated the police department as an informer for the syndicate, is rising to a position of power in the Special Investigation Unit. Each man becomes deeply consumed by his double life, gathering information about the plans and counter-plans of the operations he has penetrated. But when it becomes clear to both the gangsters and the police that there's a mole in their midst, Billy and Colin are suddenly in danger of being caught and exposed to the enemy – and each must race to uncover the identity of the other man in time to save himself.

A permissa parece boa, o elenco também, o trailer começa a abrir o apetite mas de repente aparece o mete nojo do Dicaprio e pronto, lá se borra a pintura toda e se estraga o filme....

O filme estreou em 'grande' nos Estados Unidos:

Warner Bros. has backed "The Departed" with a solid marketing campaign which is effectively exciting ticket buyers. No R-rated film has hit the $30M mark on opening weekend in nearly a year so that could once again be the ceiling on this film's short-term potential. Appeal to both men and women is substantial, although as is typical at this time of year, business from males may be affected by football and the baseball playoffs. But word-of-mouth is likely to be very positive so look for the pic to remain a contender for weeks to come. With a colossal amount of starpower, sensational reviews, and a Monday holiday helping Sunday night sales,
the Leo vs. Matt flick should be able to generate plenty of excitement with audiences this weekend. "The Departed" opens in 3,017 theaters on Friday and could gross about $27M over the frame.

E está a ter excelentes reviews, sendo pelo rottentomatoes o filme mais bem cotado do ano e o melhor de Scorsese desde o 'The Goodfellas':

Bem, claro que é boa, isto é o remake de um dos filmes asiáticos de maior culto dos últimos anos. Resta saber se é ou não uma perda de tempo.

De longe o filme que mais anseio este ano e se tinha algum receio que o filme fosse visto por muito como um remake na onda do que tem vindo dos eua (so para assinalar que nao sou nada apologista de remakes , ainda para mais quando neste caso é de um dos meus filmes asiaticos favoritos) a forma como este tem sido recebido pela critica americana (nomeadamente meia duzia de criticos dos quais estimo bastante a sua opiniao boa ou ma) provoca me enorme ansiedade para a estreia do filme em Portugal (alguem sabe para quando é? nao sera concerteza naquela fase de estreia de filmes de oscares uma vez que este nao parece nada acompanhar esse rotulo).

é o filme que mais espero nos proximos tempos.
Os filmes deste ano tem ficado um pouco aquem... se bem que no final vem sempre uns quantos bons.

Mas este tem tudo p ser dos melhores.
E para mais.. Matt Damon e Scorsese juntos só pode dar boa coisa. Vá la... nao etsreia muito tarde em Portugal. Ainda bem

é curioso que nesta lista se encontrem dois filmes de terror, que é o caso do Slither e do The Descent, o que só vem provar que os filmes de terror não se cingem áqueles filmes de matanças de adolescentes, muito em voga nos anos 80 e 90. Penso que as histórias estão mais inventivas (embora ainda não consiga ver este tipo de filmes )

Critics are in general agreement that Martin Scorsese has returned to top form with the thriller The Departed.It's his "sharpest film in a decade -- and the most entertaining major studio release this year," writes Lou Lumenick in the New York Post. Richard Roeper in the Chicago Sun-Times calls it "an instant gangster classic, a gritty, intense and electrifying work from a master who knows this turf better than any director who ever lived." Steven Rea in the Philadelphia Inquirer writes, "Martin Scorsese in The Departed gets to riff and rock. And the audience gets a huge, bloody, profane entertainment in the bargain." The "star-studded" cast, which includes Jack Nicholson, Matt Damon, Leonardo DiCaprio, Alec Baldwin, and Mark Wahlberg, also receives much praise. Marking his third with Scorsese (after Gangs of New York and The Aviator) Leonardo DiCaprio is particularly singled out. Michael Sragow in the Baltimore Sun comments that "in The Departed he continues to grow as a divided personality balancing on an existential tightrope." Lisa Kennedy in the Denver Post writes that although DiCaprio "did not have the physical presence to pull off his previous roles for Scorsese," he is "totally convincing" in this one. Manohla Dargis in the New York Times says that DiCaprio reveals in his character "a vulnerability that seems animal-like in its unknowing."
