Metrodome have announced the UK Region 2 DVD release of Overlord on 3rd March 2008 priced at £19.99. Winner of the Berlin Film Festival's Silver Bear for Direction in 1975, Overlord is a spectacularly shot meditation on the sacrifice and expendability of soldiers during the biggest military operation of all times. Director Stuart Cooper shot the movie with Stanley Kubrick's acclaimed cinematographer John Alcott (Clockwork Orange, The Shining), and they intercut new narrative footage of a shy young soldier joining the army with stock footage from the Imperial War Museum's archives.
