Giving stars to the episodes of a show (where each episode could be wrongly characterized as individual TV movies) could be a tricky task, mainly if the quality of the series is going up and down from time to time - and so, when you look to the newest episode, depending on its quality, it will change, somehow, the way you looked everything that preceded it. "The Final Problem", Sherlock's last episode (I hope!) gave me that feeling, and I don't want anytime to rewatch this show and "reevaluate" some of the great episodes of this saga, after knowing now how all of it ends, in a sort of pathetic way. This episode is the imposition of all the little problems that affected the show since the beginning: there are too much cliffhangers, the stressing suspense that leads to nothing more than the frustration of the viewer, and the final emotion I have, in this finale of a show that I loved for so many years, is somehow ambiguous. The drone scene with its CGI climax? Please, you could cut it and this "TV movie" would be the same". Thumbs up for the great dramatic moments, mixed with the bizarre and wanna-be lynchian scenes. It was a... good ending, but for Sherlock I was expecting more than just a entertaining and forgetable moment of television (and that's why my criticism, despite the good rating).

Re: Sherlock (BBC)
