One of those legendary train trips that people used to dream about taking, the Transsiberian Express has probably seen better days. An American couple, Roy and Jessie, decide to return home the long way from their recent sojourn in Peking and meet another couple from the West, Carlos and Abby, with whom they quickly form that tenuous bond that often unites fellow travelers away from home. When Roy gets separated from the train at a stopover, Jessie begins to realize that their compatriots aren’t exactly who or what they seem to be. But the real dangers of their unforgettable trip have only begun to surface; Russian cops, mobsters, and locals are still to come.

Aí travam conhecimento com Carlos e Abby, os quais não são exactamente quem aparentam ser. Inadvertidamente , Roy e Jessie são apanhados numa rede de tráfico de drogas e no centro de um assassinato, o que os torna - aos dois casais - no alvo da investigação do detective ex-KGB Grinko.

Numa altura em que o cartaz anda tão por baixo (ou talvez o cinema em si?) este foi o único filme que minimamente me interessou ir ver.

Divertiu-me q.b., mas pareceu-me estar um pouco divido. A primeira metade está pejada de clichés e altamente influenciada pelo imaginário Norte Americano em relação à Rússia. A segunda metade consegue ser bastante mais cativante, especialmente devido à interpretação de Ben Kingsley.

Para quem detesta Harry Potter e lhe apeteça ir ao cinema, não vai dar o dinheiro por mal gasto.
